Somatic Embodiment Work

← All Offerings

There are places within us that cannot always be reached through words alone.

The Sovereign Den Breathwork Ceremony is a four-hour private or semi-private experience drawing upon my training in Holotropic-inspired, embodied, and conscious breathwork.

Through sustained conscious breathing, music, somatic exploration, and intentional facilitation, we create a spacious container for moving beyond the habitual thinking mind and into deeper relationship with the body, emotion, sensation, and inner knowing.

Breath becomes practice, participation, and patience.

Experiences vary widely. You may encounter physical sensation, emotion, imagery, memory, insight, stillness, resistance, release or simply a deeper awareness of yourself. There is no prescribed experience to achieve and nothing you are required to uncover.

##WHY BREATH?

Breath is one of the few processes in the body that happens automatically and can also be consciously influenced.

Changing the way we breathe can change what we notice.

Sustained conscious breathwork can alter attention, perception, bodily sensation, emotional experience, and our ordinary state of awareness. Breathwork, meditation, contemplative practice, and other methods have long been used to explore what are often called non-ordinary, altered, or expanded states of consciousness.

Modern neuroscience is giving us increasingly sophisticated ways to study these states, but there is still much we do not understand. I am cautious of claims that breathwork precisely replicates a psychedelic experience or that a particular experience guarantees healing. That isn't necessary for this work to be meaningful.

What matters is that the breath can become a powerful way of changing our relationship to attention, sensation, emotion, and the body, without requiring an external substance.

##THIS IS SOMATIC WORK

Understanding something intellectually is one part of change.

Embodiment, is taking the cerebral aspect of all of this, and transmutes it into embodied wisdom. What is the point of something you can understand, but can't actually inhabit?

During a Breathwork Ceremony, we pay attention to what the body is communicating: sensation, tension, ease, impulse, movement, contraction, expansion, boundaries, resistance, and rest.

Rather than relating to the body only through conversation or observation, I may also work directly with the body through movement, positioning, grounding, physical support, or intentional touch.

The purpose is never to force a release, manufacture catharsis, or push the body beyond its capacity. We follow what is present.

##YOUR BODY BELONGS TO YOU

Somatic interventions and direct body work are offered only when appropriate and with explicit consent. Consent is discussed before the ceremony and remains active throughout it. You may decline, modify, pause, or stop any form of touch or physical intervention at any time. Your body belongs to you. Your boundaries, your pace, and your choices remain yours. My role is not to direct your experience or tell you what it means. I am there to tend the container, offer attuned support, and help you remain in relationship with your own agency throughout the process.

This is one of the primary reasons I offer Breathwork Ceremony only privately or semi-privately. The intimacy of the container allows for greater attention, attunement, choice, and care.

##THE FOUR-HOUR CEREMONY

A Breathwork Ceremony is intentionally spacious. We do not rush into the breath or immediately return to ordinary life afterward.

Your four-hour private or semi-private ceremony includes: Arrival + Intention: Time to arrive, connect, establish intention, and discuss what you are bringing into the experience. Preparation + Grounding: Orientation to the breath, the body, consent, boundaries, and what you may encounter during the journey. Extended Breathwork + Somatic Journey: Sustained conscious breathing supported by music, embodied awareness, somatic exploration, and individualized facilitation. Integration

Time: Time afterward to settle, reflect, orient, and begin making meaning of what emerged.

Because this work can be physically and emotionally evocative, integration is not treated as an afterthought. An experience does not have to be dramatic to matter, and its meaning does not need to be understood immediately.

##BREATHWORK + EXPANDED STATES

Human beings have entered non-ordinary states of consciousness in many ways and across many cultures and across many many generations of time, if not from the beginning of time: meditation, rhythmic breathing, movement, anaerobic exercise, stimulus depravation, fasting, prayer, contemplative practice, ceremony, and through psychoactive substances, including substances regarded within some traditions as sacred medicines or sacraments. The mechanisms and experiences are not identical, and I don't believe we need to pretend they are. What they can share is the possibility of loosening our ordinary patterns of attention and encountering ourselves from a different vantage point.

My work also includes preparation and integration support for experiences in non-ordinary states, including psychedelic experiences. Integration is where we explore what emerged, what remains confusing or unresolved, what belongs to the experience itself, and what if anything you want to carry into the way you live.

Insight may illuminate something. Integration asks what you will do with what you have seen.

No psychedelic substances are provided, prescribed, administered, or required as part of this offering.

##PRIVATE + SEMI-PRIVATE ONLY

Breathwork Ceremony is offered in person in Southern, Utah and is available privately or semi-privately only.

The ceremony is approximately four hours and includes preparation, the extended breathwork experience, somatic facilitation, and integration.

Separate preparation and integration sessions for non-ordinary-state experiences are also available in person or nationwide via Zoom.

##COME BACK TO THE BODY

This work is not about escaping yourself. It is an invitation to become more deeply acquainted with yourself, to listen, feel, witness, and become curious about what happens when the body is given enough time, attention, and safety to speak.

Life is a ceremony. Your breath can be a way back in.
