Professional role
Jen Hurst is a Holistic Trauma Practitioner and Enneagram Specialist. Her work is educational, experiential and supportive and may include Enneagram inquiry, trauma-informed reflection, somatic awareness, nervous-system resourcing, breathwork, ceremony, bilateral practices, and preparation and integration support.
Jen works with individuals in a private-practice setting, both locally and online. The use of the terms “private practice” and “client” describes the structure of the professional relationship and does not establish a medical, psychotherapeutic or other licensed healthcare relationship.
Professional certifications and affiliations
Jen holds professional certifications in the Narrative Enneagram, Compassionate Inquiry and Reclamation Breathwork. Her professional affiliations include membership with ONAC and the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine.
These certifications and memberships represent specialized education, training and professional affiliation. They do not constitute state-issued licensure or independently confer legal authority to practice medicine, psychotherapy or mental-health treatment.
Licensure and limits of services
Jen does not hold a state-issued license as a physician, psychologist, psychotherapist, clinical mental-health counselor, social worker, addiction counselor or other healthcare provider.
Her services do not include:
- Medical or mental-health diagnosis
- Psychological assessment or testing
- Psychotherapy or treatment of mental illness
- Prescribing a mental-health or medical treatment plan
- Prescribing medication or directing changes to medication
- Medical monitoring or detoxification
- Emergency or crisis care
- Legal, financial, medical or religious authority
Her services are not a replacement for care from a qualified licensed medical or mental-health professional. Clients are encouraged to maintain appropriate relationships with physicians, therapists, psychiatrists and other licensed providers.
Trauma-informed practice
The terms “trauma-informed” and “trauma awareness” describe Jen’s commitment to choice, pacing, transparency, collaboration, consent and respect for the protective intelligence of the mind and body. They do not mean that she diagnoses or treats trauma-related disorders.
Trauma-informed practice does not guarantee that discomfort, difficult emotions or challenging memories will not arise. Clients may ask questions, decline an exercise, request a modification, pause or end their participation at any time.
Breathwork, somatic practices and ceremony
Breathwork, somatic practices and ceremony are offered for self-exploration, embodied awareness, personal meaning and integration. They are not medical treatment, psychotherapy, detoxification or substitutes for licensed care.
These practices can involve physical, psychological and emotional risks. Separate screening, informed consent and written agreements may be required before participation. Jen may request medical or mental-health clearance, postpone participation or refer a person to another professional when appropriate.
Psychedelic preparation and integration
Psychedelic preparation and integration support may include education, harm-reduction information, reflective inquiry, intention setting and support in making meaning of personally chosen experiences.
This support does not include prescribing, selling, supplying or recommending dosages of controlled substances and does not constitute medical supervision. Nothing on this website encourages or requires a person to possess, obtain, transport, distribute or use a prohibited substance.
The legal status of a substance or activity is not changed by describing it as spiritual, ceremonial, religious, sacramental, therapeutic or healing. Membership in a church, spiritual community or professional organization does not by itself establish legal authorization, immunity or exemption.
Client autonomy and professional boundaries
Jen’s work is collaborative and grounded in respect for personal sovereignty. Clients remain responsible for their own decisions, participation, healthcare and legal compliance.
Jen maintains clearly defined professional boundaries. Physical touch is never assumed and requires ongoing consent. Spiritual language, symbolism and ritual are invitational rather than imposed. Jen may decline, pause or discontinue services when a person’s needs exceed her stated scope, training, competence or what can be safely supported within the available setting.
Referrals and licensed care
When appropriate, Jen may recommend consultation, clearance or continuing care from a physician, therapist, psychiatrist or other qualified professional. A referral does not constitute a diagnosis or clinical opinion.
No guaranteed outcomes
No particular insight, Enneagram type determination, emotional release, healing result, spiritual experience or life change is promised. Individual experiences and outcomes vary.
Privacy and confidentiality
Jen uses reasonable care to protect information shared within the practitioner-client relationship. This relationship may not carry the same legal privilege or statutory confidentiality protections as licensed psychotherapy, medical care or attorney-client communication. Additional privacy practices and limits are explained in the client agreement.
Emergency and crisis support
The Sovereign Den is not an emergency or crisis service, and messages are not continuously monitored. If you may harm yourself or someone else, are experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency or require immediate assistance, call 911, go to the nearest emergency department or call or text 988 in the United States. Do not wait for a response from Jen.
